What is Facultech?

 

Facultech was officially established on November 2017  by Barak Dror and Gil Zimran together with Prof. benny chefetz and Prof. Masha Niv.  At the R.H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Hebrew U, and today include over 1700 students and alumni from various fields and research domains- spanning from Microbiology and Biochemistry to Nutrition and Economics.

Our Goals:

  • Expose students to the Entrepreneurship world, focusing on Agritech and Foodtech.

  • Supply students with the tools and skills needed to build and start their own tech startup.

  • Encourage multi-disciplinary interactions between students from different fields. 

​

Our Activities: 

  • First AgFood Pre-acceleration program (in coll. with HUJI Innovate)- We offer, for the first time in Israel, a unique pre-acceleration program for students interested in starting a startup based on their own idea, specifically AgFood-related ideas. Read more about our program here. 

  • Meetups - hosting key figures and policymakers from the Israeli AgFoodtech industry.

  • Workshops -We offer various workshops on different fields- Python programming, Presenting and Storytelling, Linkedin, Career maps, Academic Writing, 3D Printing and more. 

  • Vibrant Facebook group and Linkedin page- constantly updated with relevant news, events and both in-house and external opportunities for our members.
